For over 17 years, Jon Graub has provided strategic leadership for Charming Shoppes’ real estate and store development teams, successfully building one of the strongest real estate teams in the country. He was a member of the executive leadership team at Charming Shoppes, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. Through his tenure with the company, Graub managed the growth from 1,000 to 2,500 stores nationwide and led the team through multiple acquisitions of leading store chains including Modern Women, Catherine Stores, Casual Corner Annex and Lane Bryant.
He has developed real estate strategies for multiple brands including, most recently, at Lane Bryant, where he oversaw the company’s relocation from malls to open air centers. Through Graub’s leadership, his team mapped out market strategies for every major market, led annual portfolio strategic market reviews and had a strategic plan for every store in the chain that successfully guided its growth and drove increased sales and EBITDA for the chain.
Graub has strong relationships with mall, outlet, and strip center landlords nationally and has worked through chain closures and consolidations. Graub effectively led his team through significant organic growth, acquisitions, as well as downsizing and consolidation.
Graub has also been responsible for the store design for multiple brands, leading the entire process from the rollout of prototype designs, working with outside design firms and integrating design into the total cost of designing, building and maintaining stores. He also has overseen several other departments including facilities and procurement.
